In Florida, to obtain a real estate sales license, you must:
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have high school diploma or GED
  • Complete and pass the state approved 63-hour Sales Associate Pre-License course
  • Submit an application to the Division of Real Estate with the appropriate fee
  • Pass the state exam
  • Exceptions to the above:
    • Attorneys with a current Florida Bar Card
    • Four-year real estate degree

In Florida, in order to become a broker, a sales agent must, on average, have one to three years of agency or other real estate experience. The applicant must also:

The costs you will incur to begin a career in real estate will vary, depending on your location.
